Clearly Iago is himself the victim of jealousy, and he knows its effects, as he confesses, it "doth like a poisonous mineral gnaw my inwards." (2.1.272)
So, here's a question: If your 'love' is based purely on the carnal, are you more susceptible to jealousy?
If yes, is that why Othello and Iago are such victims?
